Please, after two weeks of anguish allow me this moment of euphoria...
UNITYYYYYY!!!
Kyle Pitts. Drake London. Cordarrelle Patterson. The most exciting trio on any team in the NFL who's quarterback makes them nearly unwatchable.
I thought Mariota had bricked it and made the most important play of the game for the third straight week, a turnover each time, in a heartbreaking Falcons loss. I'll cut hit some slack though because I Imagine it's hard to focus on keeping possession of the ball with one of the Pacific Northwest's many rogue drones. Invasive species are no joke kids.
Kyle Pitts had more yards in the fourth quarter of Sunday's victory than he had in the totality of his previous two games. Turns out if you just keep throwing to the second coming of Calvin Johnson who lines up in more positions, things tend to work out for you.
Yet, I find my elation about the Unicorn's production with a sprinkling of salt. Because if you watched any of yesterday's win you know that Mariota left countless big play on the table. The first play of the game Pitts beat his man down field and Mariota, who I previously didn't think could throw a ball further than 20 yards, overthrew Pitts 40 yards down field by at least eight yards.
That wasn't an anomaly today either, Mariota overthrew Pitts and London on multiple occasions sunday. Nevertheless, the Atlanta Falcons won and both of the young superstars had huge games.
With that said, it's Ridder time. It has to be Ridder time. He can't possibly put the team in a much worse position than Mariota does and you might as well see what you have earlier than later with him.
Marcus seems like a great guy, hopefully the team covers the expenses for his therapy because he'll be horrified of rogue drones creeping up
on him at any given moment, likely for the rest of his life.
To end on a positive note, Cordarrelle Patterson set a career high in rushing yards and once again leaves me asking myself, "How did no one else think to make this guy a full time tail back?"
It's truly baffling!
His size, explosiveness and vision make him one of the league's most dangerous back and yet at the age of 31 he's doing it for just the second season?? Bill Belichick coached this guy!
Interesting though seeing how a player who's taken less hits over the course of their career than a typical running back would obviously be better taking on a work load with years of experience and in what for most athletes would be their prime age physically.
Congratulations to Drake London as well for being the first elite Falcons' receiver to seemingly be constantly targeted in the red zone.
Let's go Falcons baby best team in the league 15-2 here we come!!
