A dear friend of mine, who will remain anonymous, once uttered the words "JT Daniels will win the Heisman at Georgia this year" sometime before the start of the 2021 college football season. And at the time, some probably saw that at as a good take. Not me though. I immediately knew that JT Daniels was at his second school for a reason, and would likely soon be moving again. I couldn't have been more right.
For those of you unaware of who JT Daniels is, he is the subject sucking the toe in the picture above. He is a former 5 star high school recruit who was the top ranked overall recruit in the 2019 class, but then he thought he was too good for that so he reclassified to the 2018 class, graduated early and enrolled at USC in the Spring of 2018. This was the start of his downfall which led to him entering his name in the transfer portal 3 separate times.
Part 1
In 2018 he had his best season as a true freshman, throwing 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while USC sucked and went 5-7. In 2019 he unfortunately tore his ACL in their first game. Rather than facing some adversity and battling to win his job back from Kedon Slovis the next year, he decided to pop his transfer portal cherry and enter his name.
Part 2
JT Daniels was coming off an injury so a lot of teams still had hope for him and saw him as a guy with high potential for some reason. He was highly recruited once again but decided to attend The University of Georgia. Daniels was initially named the third string QB to start the 2020 season, but he got lucky due to some injuries and he was named the starter for the rest of the season. In the 2021 season he was replaced because he sucked. Thats not even the worst part.
He was replaced by WALK ON Stetson Bennett who eventually led Georgia to a National Championship victory.
Daniels had no shot of starting the next year, so instead of taking his losses and quitting football - he entered his name into the transfer portal for a SECOND time.
Part 3
JT Daniels decided to take his talents to mountaineer country. If you would like to know how eventful and successful Daniels' time in West Virginia was, this snippet from his wikipedia page should fill you in -
"On April 13, 2022, JT Daniels announced his intention to transfer to West Virginia University.[20] On December 5, 2022, Daniels entered the transfer portal."
So after this, you would think JT Daniels would be hanging up the cleats. But no, he is now entering the transfer portal for a THIRD time.
I never thought this would be something I'd say, but I think my college career and experience has been better than a D1 College Football Quarterback's? JT Daniels has played college football in 3 different states, 2 different timezones, West & East Coast, and the grimy Mid-West. Thats embarrassing and in my opinion it's time to hang em up.
Hopefully JT takes this blog into consideration, but in the meantime the rest of America and I will be awaiting his 4th commitment post on Instagram.
PS - his career is so much worse than Tate Martell's
