Every year stoners around the world unite for their favorite holiday, 4/20. They also do this every day around the time 4:20 pm/am. I have never been apart of this group. I've never had the joy of celebrating a time daily, or celebrating a holiday on April 20th. But this year is different. This is the most excited I have ever been for 4/20. It just might not be for the same reason. We'll dig into that in a bit after I give some context.
The stud you see above is none other than the best player in the MLB, Fernando Tatis Jr. He plays SS for my beloved San Diego Padres who went on an absolutely historical run to the NLCS this past season, eliminating the Mets in the wildcard round and the piece of shit Dodgers in the divisional. They did all this without Tatis Jr who was UNFAIRLY suspended for 80 games due to steroid use.
Tatis Jr has not played since the 2021 season due to a motorcycle accident where he suffered a wrist injury. Before his suspension he was on track to return sometime shortly before the playoffs in the 2022 season, but one can only assume the MLB was afraid the Padres would be too dominant with the acquisition of Juan Soto and Manny Machado's MLB caliber season so they decided to suspend him.
Tatis Jr. tested positive for the anabolic steroid "Clostebol". This is because it was in a medication that he was given to treat ringworm. Tatis had ZERO KNOWLEDGE that the steroid was in this medication. He was not intentionally trying to take it. One can only assume the doctor who prescribed it was a dodger fan. He also took it when he was NOT playing. The MLB was made aware of this and they wrongfully suspended him 80 games meaning he was done for the season.
Collusion.
Any baseball fan would agree that the sport was MILES better when players were juicing. The steroid era was the best baseball has ever been.
We here at Brogan's Blog are pro-steroid use, I would like to make that very clear.
With all that being said, the Padres playoff run helped take a good amount of games off of Tatis Jr suspension. Meaning he would be able to return sooner in the 2023 season. He will now only miss the first 20 games of next season. This sets his return date to be....you guessed it
4/20.
