Since its the day before the much anticipated kickoff off of the 2022 NFL season, I figured it is a perfect time to discuss one of the most well known (for some reason) announcers in the business. This man's name is Cris Collinsworth. Unfortunately, he will be announcing the opening game showdown between the Bills and Rams tomorrow night. Safe to say my TV will be on mute.
Collinsworthless has been terrorizing living rooms with his nasally voice and horrible opinions for years, but let's dig into his life before that.
Collinsworth is a Florida man as I'm sure you could tell. He attended Astronaut High School in Titusville (nice), Florida. This is where the fraudulence begins. At his high school he was the ultimate teacher's pet and kiss ass, this is because his father was the PRINCIPAL. I can guarantee you the only reason he received any chance on a sports team was because his father was dishing out raises left and right to coaches. He ended up being named an All-American quarterback in high school blah blah blah no one gives a shit about that. All of this was handed to him on a silver platter. He was actually so bad at what he does that when he got to the University of Florida he had to switch too wide receiver. I can't think of anyone that was so terrible they had to switch from quarterback to wide receiver. I definitely never did that in high school. Couldn't be me.
Collinsworth didn't have many hobbies in college. He was often seen scouring the campus looking for bowls to put on top of his head so he could cut his hair. Because of the lack of excitement in his life, Collinsworth was able to excel on the football field at Florida. He ended up being drafted to the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 1981 NFL Draft. Not the first. Once again, none of this matters because of his fraudulent path to the pros that started in high school.
Collinsworth's career started off alright. As a rookie he made the Pro-Bowl and Second Team All-Pro. He did that again the next two seasons. Please remember this is all fraudulent.
In his second season the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl. The city was so excited to possibly win their first. The city was full of so much hope. Collinsworthless took all of that away from them. This happened when he caught a pass in the second quarter and then FUMBLED, the 49ers then recovered the ball and scored a touchdown. The Bengals lost the game by 5 points. COLLINSWORTH SINGLE HANDEDLY LOST A SUPER BOWL. (The NFL, NBC, and now Amazon Prime do not want the people to know this.)
His career went on, he lost another Super Bowl and retired in 1988. Pretty short career if you ask me. Since then, he has been tainting broadcasts with his biased narratives as he calls games. He was accused of it during Super Bowl 52 where it was obvious he wanted the Patriots to win the game. (they didn't)
He is most notably biased whenever he calls a game the Steelers play in. It is clear as day he wants them to lose. This is not a quality you want to see in one of the most popular and well-known broadcasters in sports. How he has won 17 Emmys is a mystery to be and discredits the Emmys as a whole. I won't even get started on how he is a majority owner of Pro Football Focus (PFF). A fraudulent sports analytics company that spews nothing but lies and bullshit. That's a blog for another time.
I have to stop writing this. It is genuinely getting me so angry that I have to keep looking at his face and reading his wikipedia page.
